Naxalism is a challenge for the country and Darbha attack was its worst manifestation. Taking a lesson from the incident we need an inter-State coordination committee to find out a unanimous and long lasting solution to this menace, said Raman Singh, adding that a proposal to this effect will be put up before the Centre.

Raman said any war is fought on the strength of resources. Maoist is a national scourge and should be seen in broader perspective. It also needed a day to day monitoring and therefore we have demanded more paramilitary forces from the Centre, he added.
When his attention was drawn to the recently issued list of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders on hit list of Maoists Raman Singh said such lists are regularly issued by insurgents for the last 9 years but life and death is not in one's own hand.

According to him, for strengthening democracy there is need for everyone to fight the scourge of Maoist insurgency collectively
