Maoist insurgents snapped the power connection of National Mineral Corporation’s pump house blocking water supply in its plant area. After conducting repairing on war footing, the water supply was restored Saturday morning.
According to police department sources, 8-10 militants dressed in Maoist attire attacked the NMDC Gali Nal pump house located at Bacheli (Akashnagar) and cut the cable snapping power supply to the pump house Friday night leading to non supply of water in NMDC mining area.
Notably, from this pump house water is supplied for both spraying on dust
of lime stone in the mining area as well as for
drinking of office workers. After getting information, repairing team reached the spot and restored the water supply.
Notably, the Maoist insurgents have stepped up their activities in Bastar after the attack on Congress
convoy at Jeeram Valley near Darbha. NMDC plant has been on their target as they attacked it several times in past as well.
