Taking Chief Minister’s visit lightly proved heavy against the Janjgir-Champa district collector RPS Tyagi, who was immediately removed from the post thanks to the barrage of complaints which kept coming from local Bharatiya Janata Party leaders till his departure. P Anbalgan has been sent as new collector there.
According to sources, during the Chief Minister’s Vikas Yatra in Janjgir-Champa district major irregularities were witnessed in the arrangements. The district administration even did not pay heed to the necessity of constructing helipad at some places even if it was necessary from the Chief Minister’s security point of view.
As the local BJP leaders too were critical of Tyagi due to his unresponsive attitude and repeatedly complained to the Chief Minister, Dr Singh finally removed him. A number of complaints were heard against him earlier as well.
Deputy secretary of health department P Anbalgan, who was removed from Bastar collector’s post on the charges of administrative inability in the aftermath of May 25 Jeeram Valley Maoist attack in which 30 people were killed including top Congress leaders of Chhattisgarh, has been sent to Janjgir-Champa as the new collector.
R P S Tyagi on the other hand has been posted as joint secretary in health department with additional charge of Managing Director of National Rural Health Mission.
