Indian goods will replace Chinese in festive season: CAIT

Staff Reporter

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Thursday promised that no Chinese goods will be available with shopkeepers across the country during the long festival season starting in August.

CAIT National Vice President Amar Parwani and Chhattisgarh Working Presidents Magelal Maloo and Vikram Singh Deo said in a joint statement that the sanctity of festivals will be maintained by using only Indian goods.

The statement said during the last festival season, Chinese goods worth Rs 20,000 crores were sold. The situation has changed in the wake of the military stand-off between India and China on the       border.

The organization is spearheading a movement to boycott Chinese goods under its mission "Bhartiya Sammaan, Hamara Abhiman". An elaborate strategy has been adopted to make Indian goods available across India in substantial quantities.

The coming festival season begins with Rakhi on August 3 and will continue till Diwali on November 25. CAIT is preparing an exhaustive list of the items those are used in each festival.
