Indian Medical Association (IMA), Durg doctors in a joint statement said that people should not carry the fear of dengue, but just carry out few safety and precautions, people should before and after, if affected by dengue, should keep the body covered totally.
The fear has come in Bhilai-Durg area due to sudden deaths occurred and continuous testing has proven that many of them have tested positive. The IMA said that people should ensure that even clean and dirty water should not be allowed to stagnate, if anyone has fear, headache, and stomach-ache then conduct dengue probe and C.B.C. In case found to be dengue positive, and if the platelets and P.C. B are normal, then should remain in house. Drink more water, in case of fever take paracematol/crocin and do cold sponging, so that fever remains low. 90 percent people do not require hospitalisation and there is no need for fear, said doctors.
It automatically gets normal. Only one has to continuously monitor the status of platelets by testing daily. If the positive person has vomiting, headache, stomach-ache, bleeding from nose or gums, and when the platelets are less than 20,000 then one should get admitted in hospital. They assured the residents that district administration along with doctors are working together and people are also extending cooperation with each other, so it would help to eradicate the outbreak.
