The Chhattisgarh chapter of the Indian Medical Association on Sunday condemned the assault on senior doctor Manoj Lahoti of Raipur at the office of the Chhattisgarh Women’s Commission and decided to protest against it.
In a joint statement, IMA Chairman Vikas Jain and Secretary Asha Jain demanded stern action against the accused.
The association held a meeting at the Medical College auditorium on Sunday evening and decided to formulate a strategy so that such incidents do not recur.
A team of senior doctors was formed to look into the matter.
The Association of Junior Doctors joined the protest and its members demonstrated at the Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital premises on Sunday.
