Raipur District Magistrate and Collector Dr Basavaraju banned the movement of heavy vehicles in Arang town from 8.00 AM to 9.00 PM for smooth and safe movement of traffic.
On National Highway 53, a four-lane bypass has been constructed to avoid going to Arang town, which is being used by the heavy-loaded transport vehicles. But it has been found that few medium and heavy loaded vehicles are still using the road passing through Arang town. Many of these vehicles also violate the speed limit, increasing chances of accident. Keeping this in view, the ban has been imposed.
The order has been passed under Chhattisgarh Motor vehicle Rules 1994, Rule 215.
