Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket- one of the leading healthcare service provider of North India on Friday tied up with Jeevan Anmol Hospital, Raipur to extend its Cardiology services in the city.
In commencement of this tie-up, renowned cardiologist- Dr Rajeev Rathi – Senior Consultant Cardiology & Dr Neeraj Awasthy – Senior Consultant and In-charge, Paediatric Cardiology will be consulting patients every 4th Sunday of the month and every 3rd Friday respectively at Jeevan Anmol Hospital, Raipur.
Addressing a Press conference here, Dr Rajeev Rathi, Senior Consultant- Cardiology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket said “Heart disease is no longer restricted to urban areas and has now hit the rural populations too as these cities are moving towards urbanization and are adopting similar lifestyle.
Chattisgarh has also witnessed a sudden rise in cardiac patients in the recent past with about 20 percent of the State’s population suffering from high blood pressure which is amongst the leading cause of heart diseases, he said.
On a daily basis, we review a lot of heart patients at Max Hospital and almost 40% of them are suffering from some or the other lifestyle disorder. Through this OPD we wish to bring our specialized services in the field of Cardiology to the doorsteps of the residents, Dr Rathi said.

Congenital heart diseases are ailments or defects that children are born with. These defects may be in the heart valve conditions or in the septum (the wall that separates the left and right sides of the heart). In fact, the most common heart conditions found in children are structural heart defects, which occur in roughly eight of 1,000 live births. These defects should be identified at the earliest and a corrective surgery should be done at the time of birth or few months after birth, he said.
