Hundreds of health employees of the State will gherao health officers and stage dharna and a demonstration on February 20, in support of their charter of demands which includes new pay scale and promotion.
According to them, with their demands, they had held discussions several times with the health officers. Even then, their demands were not being considered. They stated that hundreds of health employees are at work in the State and they are being given the 6th Pay Commission scale. But it has not been implemented, even though the 7th Pay Commission has been constituted, because of which they are suffering a loss of 3000 to 5000 rupees per month.
Promotion on several posts is pending. Appointment has not been done according to the set up. Promotion of women supervisors in Raipur is pending for long time. Time-scale is not being given to supervisors and dressers, the employees stated. State president of Health Employees Association OP Sharma said that he had a meeting with the office-bearers recently, in which discussion was held on various issues of employees, including payscale and promotion.
In the meeting, a decision was taken to stage a ‘Vadanibhao Dharna Pradarshan’ in support of their demands on February 20. He said that the employees have been urging with the government and administration about their demands. Even then, their demands were not being considered. In such a situation, they would gherao all the divisional joint directors and other officers and stage demonstration. Hundreds of employees of the State will participate in the agitation, he added.
