HC orders DGP to revoke SDOP’s suspension

Staff Reporter

The Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday ordered the Director General of Police (DGP) to revoke the suspension of Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) Dhruvesh Jaiswal.

The petitioner’s counsel Abhishek Pandey told The Pioneer that a bench of Justice P. Sam Koshy directed the DGP to revoke the suspension within 30 days.

Jaiswal, 36, who was posted as SDOP at Wadraf Nagar in Balrampur district, was suspended in October last year.

In January, he filed a petition challenging the order and sought appropriate directions for immediate revocation of his suspension.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the Home Department needs to issue a chargesheet within 90 days from the suspension.

But 90 days had lapsed and the chargesheet had not been issued against the petitioner in violation of Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control, Appeals) Rules, Pandey said.
