Governor Shekhar Dutt on Thursday paid obeisance to Gurugranth Sahib at Station Road Gurudwara on the occasion of Prakash Parab. He also offered rumala sahib (a kind of cloth) to Gurugranth Sahib.
Notably Prakash Parab is every year celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak Devji. This year it would be 565 birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji. In his short speech the Governor said from time to time great saints and persons have incarnated in India who, through their messages have given new direction to society.
Guru Nanakji was one of such great saints who gave new direction to country. “Country always needs such social reformer,” said Governor and hoped that Prakash Parab will add all the different sections of society in one string.
