Chhattisgarh will see gusty winds and light drizzle in some places on Monday, the India Meteorological Department said on Sunday.

The weather in the state capital turned pleasant on Sunday evening as the mercury dropped a few notches after soaring high in recent days.

Dr H.P. Chandra, a weather scientist at the Meteorological Department, said the reason behind the change in the weather was a trough that has developed between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as well as towards Telangana.

“Because of it, light rainfall with thunderstorm is predicted in some isolated places in the state,” the officer said.

The minimum temperature in Chhattisgarh on Sunday was at Ambikapur (22.3 degrees Celsius) and the maximum at Durg, where the mercury soared to 41.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperature in Raipur were 40.2 and 25.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
