State Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra on Wednesday said the farmers in the district should not just rely on paddy cultivation and should start growing crops of sugarcane and vegetables besides pulses.
He was addressing the villagers at Aroud and Gujara Villages in Balod and Daudi development blocks as part of the State Government’s lok Suraaj campaign. Paikra said the farmers could earn good income by taking up livestock, fisheries and poultry businesses. He also encouraged the villagers to get toilets constructed in their houses and keep the village surroundings clean.
