Demanding the risk allowance as well as Tribal area allowance on the basis of present salary, Government departments employees and officials of the Bastar division are on the warpath and have threatened to go on indefinite strike if their demands are not met. In the first phase of their agitation, nearly 25 thousand staff, officers of the division reached their offices on Wednesday sporting black strip.
They will work for two more days bearing the black bands, a sign of protest against the Government’s alleged apathy towards their demands. Notably, about 24 Government employees associations are jointly protesting under the banner of Bastar Sambhag Samyukta Adhikari-Karmachari Sangharsh Morcha. On the first day they attended their offices sporting black bands. In the next phase of their agitation, the employees stage dharna and demonstration in support of their demands.
