Alleging laxity in the probe of automobile businessman Rinku Khanuja’s reported suicide case Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGCC) President and MlA Bhupesh Baghel has questioned the role of State Government in the sleaze CD row.

Talking to media persons at the Assembly premises here, Baghel charged that Rinku Khanuja, who was being questioned by CBI in the alleged sleaze CD case was ‘murdered’ and had not committed 'suicide'.

The Government is sheltering the accused by providing them a ‘safe passage’ and is also trying to escape from discussions on it in the Assembly, he said.

Khanuja who was a witness in the sleaze CD case allegedly involving a Chhattisgarh Minister was found dead in mysterious condition a month ago. Family members of Khanuja had also raised question on the role of CBI and have alleged that no proper probe is being done by the city police, Baghel said.

“A Congress party probe team earlier visited the incident site and had also met the family members. In the probe done by experts, it was revealed that prima facie the case doesn’t look like that of a suicide. The evidences found at the incident site clearly indicate that the matter was of 'murder'”, he said.

Baghel further demanded CCTV footage of CBI office, video of post mortem, reason for having mud in the toes of Rinku Khanuja, details of material found in the pocket of Rinku Khanuja, his mobile phone's location during the period from June 1 to 5.

He also questioned why not till date, post mortem report has been provided to the family members of Rinku Khanuja and demanded justice for the bereaved family.
