The Chhattisgarh Government is contemplating to impose a blanket ban on sale of tobacco based gutkha and pan masala products in the State.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Chandrakar on Tuesday during a meeting with the senior Department officials directed to prepare an action plan for banning tobacco products.
He said that in public interest, there needs to be a serious thinking on banning tobacco based products in the State.
Chandrakar told officials to ensure that as per the decision to ban tobacco based products, there should be no sale of tobacco based ‘gutkha’ and ‘pan masala’ in the State.
