State Government has issued detailed guidelines for settlement of encroached land, allotment of government land and simplification of redressal process of diversion cases.

In case of diversion, it has been decided that the applications will be collected in town and village investment offices. In the same way, penalty amount for encroached land settlement has been halved.

Besides, for allotment of government land, officials of local bodies and town and village investment offices will be included in the committee constituted for redressal of land allotment cases. In case, two or more applications are received for the same plot of land, auction system will be applied to maintain transparency.

A lump-sum payment of the amount of land lease for 15 years will make the beneficiary entitled to avail the provision of concession for next 15 years.  This will save the beneficiaries from submission of lease amount every year. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took the aforementioned decisions in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

State government has received complaints about delay in settlement of encroached land and allotment of government land. For the convenience of common people, the state government has decided to delegate the power of allotting land of up to 7500 sq ft to district collector.
