Expressing shock and anguish over the rape of a one-and-a-half year old girl near Kotar in Kanker region, the Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress party has accused the State Government of being insensitive towards crimes against women.
It is a matter of great concern that such incidents are taking place despite huge claims being made by the ruling BJP Government that it will end the atrocities against women and protect their dignity, State Congress Media In-charge Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said in a statement issued here.He said that in the same Kanker district, similar incident had taken place in ‘Jhaliamari Tribal Girls Ashram. The incident of atrocities on children are continuing in Amadula , Koria, Gutkia Kanya Ashram Jashpur Bijapur and Dhanora, he said.
The ruling BJP Government has remained silent despite the State recording an incident of rape every second day and a gang rape every third day. The BJP Government in the State is accountable for such atrocities against women and children, he said.Earlier also, similar incidents have been reported from different areas of Raipur including those in Sejbahar, Santoshi Nagar, Gorela, Chakrabay, and Pathalgaon, Trivedi said. Similarly, minors and innocent girls were victim of rape in Birgaon of Raipur, he said.
Chhattisgarh is the only State where even the woman cops are not spared. Be it housewives, school students or children, nobody is safe under the BJP Government, he said.
