Staff Reporter

The State Government has asked all Government and private educational institutions not to compel students receiving Post Matric scholarships for pursuing professional courses in Engineering, Agriculture and other fields to pay the mandatory fee during the admission process immediately.

Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department Secretary Manoj Pingua stated that the State Government has taken the complaints of some tribal students from Bastar region regarding pay of fee immediately seriously.   The students had met Governor Shekhar Dutt recently and had told him that some colleges are asking for payment of full fee by them for enrolling into professional courses.

The students while telling about their financial difficulties had urged the Governor that they must be exempted from mandatory payment of fee at the time of admission.

After receiving the plea from the students, the Governor had directed the State Government to issue a directive to the colleges to exempt the students from paying full fee at the time of admission. State Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar after receiving the directive had issued the necessary directives not to charge fee from the aforesaid category of students immediately.
