The State Government has allocated Rs 602.82 crore for the Mid-Day Meals Scheme of the schoolchildren for the current academic year.
This includes Rs 352.82 crore released by the School Education Department and Rs 250 crore released by the Tribal Development Department.
It may be mentioned here that 34.48 lakh children study in more than 45,000 primary and Middle-schools. The children are provided with hot, fresh and nutritious diet on a daily basis.
Chief Minister Raman Singh had instructed the School Education Department officers and school teachers to maintain the quality of the Mid-Day Meals.
