Governor Shekhar Dutt and Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh have expressed profound grief over the demise of veteran journalist Basant Tiwari after a prolonged illness on Monday. He was 83.
The Governor, while expressing deep condolence to family of the departed soul, said that Tiwari in his long career in journalism was the Bureau Chief of Nai Dunia newspaper in Raipur besides serving with Deshbandhu newspaper while also writing thought provoking articles for the UNI, The Times of India and Dharmayug.
Dutt said that the late journalist wrote about a dozen books.
