Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said the key objective of the state government is to hike the income of people.

He was addressing a public gathering in village Mukta in Sakti district's Chandrapur assembly constituency.

Interacting with people during his Bhent Mulaqat Abhiyan (public interaction), Baghel sought feedback on the flagship schemes of the government and status of implementation of welfare schemes.

He said: “We have delivered what was promised. The loan waiver of farmers, reduction of electricity bill, paddy procurement, health, education and more.”

The policies have benefited the poor, workers, farmers and backward communities including tribes, he said.

He said the acreage and production of paddy has increased. The number of registered farmers has increased to 26 lakh. Employment opportunities are being created by setting up Rural Industrial Park in Gauthans.

He said the Chhattisgarh Model is a concept where villagers get benefits of all government schemes.

The Chief Minister asked the district Collector and the Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) to resolve the farmer’s issue of denial of compensation.

A farmer, Golu Bareth, said he had not got compensation.

Hazari Lal Chandra, a farmer of village Hardi, pointed out that even after approaching authorities, his issue has not been resolved.

The Chief Minister approved a community building and shed at the cremation ground in village Mukta, beautification and construction work in Khanti pond in village Jamgahan, construction of road from Kalmi to Chikhli, Chhotekot and Sighra, and the main road in the Gram Panchayat Malkharoda to Belhadih.

He also declared upgrading the Government Pre-Secondary School in Gram Panchayat Sarasdol to a High School, the Government High School in village Jamgahan and Sulauni to a Higher Secondary School besides a new high school in village Mukta.
