Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday declared a waiver of development and construction charges for Gol Bazar traders in Raipur. Earlier, they got the ownership rights.
The announcement was made after a delegation of office bearers of the Gol Bazar Traders Federation met the Chief Minister here, an official communication said.
The waiver will benefit more than 1,000 traders of Gol Bazar, said Federation President Dhanraj Jain.
During the meeting with the Chief Minister, the delegation stated that most traders do small business. All of them are undergoing economic crises due to the lockdown of shops amid Covid-19. They urged him to waive off construction and development fees.
The Chief Minister accepted the demand. Earlier, the ownership rights were given to traders who have been in Gol Bazar for the last hundred years.
The Federation gifted the Chief Minister a copy of ‘Bhagwat Gita’, which is operated by a remote. The verses can be heard in English, Hindi or Sanskrit through the speaker.
