In order to bring transparency, the Registration Certificate of Vehicles and Driving licences are being provided in the form of ‘Smart Card’, officials stated.
Significantly, the step is taken after the recent computerisation of all the District Transport Offices under a Centralized server. The entire process related to the Transport Department is being carried out through computer.
State Transport Minister Rajesh Munat said the applications for Driving learning licence and Driving licence are accepted by Tablets.
He said that the Department is converting the earlier provided Driving licences in Electronic Mode and releasing it as 'Smart Card Based licence'.
Regional Transport Department officials have asked the residents to come forward for the digital licence transformation. locals will have to fill up the 'llD' form and submit it along with a copy of their driving licence, identity proof, date of birth proof and the amount fixed for the work. The photograph of the individual will be also be taken.
Notably, considering the convenience of the residents including women and aged ones, the Government has set up the Driving licence City Centre at Pandri Bus Stand in Raipur.
