Gariaband district has reportedly marked an achievement by being the first district across the nation to successfully execute the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
The information was given by Collector Niranjan Das stating that the centre has approved a massive fund for the five year work plan for the Gariaband district.
Under the scheme, each field of the district is proposed to receive irrigational water within the next five years. Das said the farmers have been encouraged about the scheme during the `Gram Uday Se Gram Bharat Tak campaign’.
This has motivated the villagers and they are preparing the work plan of their respective villages.
Das prominently mentioned about Potiya village under Gariaband block and Dadargaon (purana) village under Chura block relating this success.
He further said free paddy seeds are being distributed among the farmers as per the norms. Also, he assured to distribute the amount of Crop Insurance Scheme soon. The farmers will receive their Crop Insurance payments through their bank accounts.
Presently, the district administration is urging the farmers to utilize the Soil Health Testing benefits. It helps in knowing the quality of crops being suited to particular soil in specific area.
