Chief Minister Raman Singh on Monday released the book— ‘India’s Defence and National Security’ penned by former Governor of Chhattisgarh Shekhar Dutt here.The book was released in a ceremony organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
In his address, Singh said that this book is the extract of Dutt’s rich experience of India’s internal and external security. ‘Naxalism and terrorism is a big challenge for internal security of India.
As an IAS Officer, Dutt had served in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He had also been in service with the Central Government and held the post of Governor of Chhattisgarh for nearly four years.’
Before his selection in the civil service, Dutt started his career as an officer in Indian Army and has vast knowledge about literature, philosophy, yoga, agriculture and a wide array of subjects, the Chief Minister said.
Dutt has authored several important books and also held the post of Secretary, Defence Production in India. In this book, Dutt has thrown light upon the challenges for internal and external security of the nation.
On the occasion, Dutt said that it was his desire to get this book released in Chhattisgarh, because he has special emotional connect with the State and he is also very impressed with Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.
