The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department scam is the father of all scams said Congress National General Secretary and In-charge of Chhattisgarh, BK Hariprasad. The Chhattisgarh government has completely failed in tackling Naxalism. The funds allocated for fighting insurgency during the UPA regime have been considerably slashed by the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, he claimed.
“The sacrifices of jawans were dishonoured in Chhattisgarh by throwing their dress in garbage’’, he charged. Targetting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, he said “Seventeen women had lost their lives in botched up sterilization incident in Bilaspur district but neither the Prime Minister nor the Union Health Minister had the time to visit the State.”
Hariprasad said that the Congress during UPA regime had brought Food Security Act and tried to provide food to the poor; however, the ruling government at the Centre through land Acquisition Bill is trying to take away that food. The Congress General Secretary also criticized the Central government for its failure in bringing back the black money.
He further claimed that the present BJP regime at the Centre has slashed funds amounting to Rs 66,258.44 crore from different important schemes. Citing a report presented in the Parliament by a legislator, he said that maximum number of atrocities against tribal people were reported in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in India. Picking up the Meena Khalkho encounter and also Jhaliyamari incident wherein several minors were raped in a government-run hostel, he said that the ruling State Government is working against its slogan of ‘Beti bacho beti padhao’.
