leader of the Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly, TS Singhdeo, inaugurated five models for Solid and liquid Resource Management (SlRM) at Deviganj, Khatikpara- Namnakala, Old Bus Stand, Thanganpara and DC Road here. SlRMs have already been installed in Kenabandh, Pratiksha Bus Stand, Khalpara-Pratappur Chowk, Darripara, Takiya Road, District Hospital, Balrampara, Gandhi Nagar, Navapara and Ghutrapara.

Addressing the gathering, Singhdeo said, “Solid and liquid Resource Management is an interlinking concept to utilise the abundant existing natural resources to tackle garbage management through canalised usage of high efficient man power and thereby contributing to solve the twin issue of waste management and unemployment.

“The uniqueness of the SlRM model is that all the waste and garbage collected are internally processed in the centre and everything is converted into green energy. There is absolutely no need for dumping of any waste outside. People have to pay only ` 1.65 per day or `50 per month as user charge,” he said. Singhdeo also paid a sum of `1,200 as user charge to the committee. Member of Parliament Kamalbhan Singh in his address appealed people to get themselves insured through life Insurance policy under Pradhan Mantri Beema  Suraksha Yojana. He said, earlier, the Ambikapur Municipal Corporation had implemented SlRM to maintain cleanliness in the city.

“Cleanliness plays important role in our life. It is our responsibility not only to  maintain self-cleanliness but also to maintain cleanliness in our houses, society and  environment,” the MP said. Collector Ritu Sain and Mayor Ajay Tirkey also addressed the programme.
