Chhattisgarh Police have seized 127 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 15.75 lakhs and arrested five persons in Balod district who were transporting it from Odisha to Maharashtra.
Those arrested were Manoj Mohunria, Sanjeet Mahaldar, Parimal Mandal, Pranav Mandal and Pratik Bhardwaj, Balod Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar said.
Bhardwaj is a resident of Raipur city while others are from Odisha.
The police intercepted a pick-up van on Sunday during a checking near Jagtara temple.
They seized the cannabis stuffed in gunny bags and a pick-up van used in the crime, the officer added.
