Chhattisgarh State Finance Commission Chairperson Chandrashekar Sahu on Thursday presided over a meeting of top officers at his office.
There was a detailed discussion on strengthening the finances of the three-tier panchayats and urban local bodies. The role of Self-Help groups was also discussed at the meeting.
This was the first meeting of the Third Finance Commission.
Former Chief Secretary S.K. Mishra , former Additional Chief Secretary D.S . Mishra, State Finance Commission member Nareshchandra Gupta, State Planning Board member P. P. Sothi, State Finance Commission former member Dr. Hanumant Yadav and Dr. Ashok Parekh, Secretary Dr. B.K. Agrawal, Expert Dr. J.l. Bharadwaj, Deepak Mashkey and Pradeep Sharma were also present.
Sahu said that Chhattisgarh is developing State. Suggestions will be invited after June 16 at divisional and district-level from the common citizens on strengthening the finances of panchayats and urban bodies. Workshops-seminars will be held in the entire State.
