For systematic and successful accomplishment of State-wide lok Suraaj Abhiyan, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand has written letter to all the Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors while directing them to make arrangements for the campaign with priority by establishing coordination with different departments and public representatives.
The Chief Secretary has stated in the letter that events like Gram Suraaj, Nagar Suraaj and Vikas Yatra are organized from time to time to sensitize the administration towards public services for monitoring development works and for ensuring that eligible beneficiaries are benefitted by public welfare schemes. Such campaigns and events have borne positive results.
Hence, the State Government has decided to conduct lok Suraaj Abhiyaan from April 13 to May 12. This newly-formulated campaign will have important roles for Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors to play. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will go on surprise visit to government hospitals, schools, colleges, Aanganbadi centres, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe hostels, girls’ hostels, Tehsil offices, ration shops, Project Offices, bus stands and other government organizations to inspect the work culture there.
He will interact with common people to know about conduct of officials and also to verify that whether or not they are receiving the benefits of various government schemes. After conducting sudden inspection, Chief Minister will convene a joint meeting of public representatives and officials of two-three adjacent districts, wherein Cleanliness Campaign, agricultural schemes and other development programmes will be reviewed.
During this event, State Government’s Ministers, Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Head of Departments, and other senior officials will also visit different cities and villages for sudden inspection of development works.
Meanwhile, they will review progress of development works and activities of respective departments in each district. Divisional Commissioner, District Collector and District Officials of various departments will visit different parts of respective districts for inspection. Inauguration and foundation laying programmes of various construction works and distribution of goods under beneficiary-oriented schemes have also been lined up during this event.
The Chief Secretary has stated that promotion and publicity of public welfare schemes and achievements will also be done at district-level. At block level, various departments including Agriculture Department will take out chariot (Rath) for publicizing government schemes. Health camps and other camps will also be organized.
