Staff Reporter

District Collector Himshikhar Gupta has directed officials to clear all pending cases in a time bound manner to avoid causing inconvenience to the people in the district. He also warned of stringent action against those who refuse to comply with his orders in a meeting of revenue officials held here. The Collector was annoyed over the pendency of various cases in revenue courts due to absence of the senior officials.

He issued specific instruction to senior officials to sit regularly in revenue courts and dispose of all the pending cases within a stipulated time while noting that even emergency cases were pending for over an year. Cases such as land diversion, demarcation, registration among such issues of importance including encroachments were pending since long in the wake of the official lethargy .

The Collector wanted the officials to shed laziness to accelerate the pace of development in the district. Gupta was also dissatisfied with the manner in which the administration was functioning and ordered the officials to take a pro-active role in addressing the public grievances. He also inspected the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the district and directed the officials to ensure that they function properly and the people  get its benefits.
