The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is ensuring no tribal student in the insurgency infested Bastar region is left out of appearing in the forthcoming Board examinations. CGBSE chairman KDP Rao has directed officials to take every possible measure for ensuring that no student of class X and XII examinations 2015 is deprived of taking up the examinations in the red zones.
Rao had already held a meeting of the district collectors of Bastar division and issued the directives. The exams are scheduled to be held from February 23 in the insurgency infested Bastar region of the State. Rai had also asked officials to arrange for transporting, boarding and lodging of the students in the region.
Notably, children of those killed in Maoist violence are offered admission in nearby schools or the schools of their choice in Bastar region. Besides, the children, who were maimed in Maoist attacks are given admission in the schools in nearby areas, officials stated. In this context, School Education Minister, Kedar Kashyap had issued directives last year to the State Project Offices of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Directorate of Public Instruction to take immediate action in this regard.
“Study of no child should be affected due to his/her family’s head’s death or injuries in Naxal attack. The State government took the aforesaid decision while keeping this thought in mind” Kashyap had stated. According to their wish, the children should be given priority in admission in Kasturba Gandhi residential schools, PORTA Cabin or Girls residential schools, he had stated.
