EC adopting biased attitude: BJP

SR

In the Chhattisgarh Assembly election, the approach of the Election Commission is allegedly biased and suspicious, charged Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP legal cell assistant coordinator Naresh Chandra Gupta Tuesday alleged that over a dozen complaints with evidence had been made against the Congress with the Election Commission, but no action has been taken against any one of them so far. However, the over-activeness of the commission even on the small and baseless complaints against the BJP is clearly evident, he added.

Complaints of terrorising of voters by Congress leader Ajit Jogi, misleading of farmers, irregularity in voter list by Satyanarayan Sharma, unnecessary interference by election observer etc had been made with the Election Commission, but action on any of them have not been taken, he added.

Complaint had also been made against the observer of Raipur South constituency that he has been creating unnecessary impediments in election campaign and pressurising the BJP candidate and his election workers. Gupta said that the election commission, by not taking action on the complaints against the Congress leaders and the observer, has adopted biased approach.
