Chhattisgarh on Monday launched a campaign to make the state filariasis (elephantiasis) free. Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo virtually inaugurated the programme held under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh Drug Association. Addressing the event, the Minister said patients who reach the health centres should be able to get the medicine at their convenience.
He underlined the need to create awareness about the disease.
The Minister himself administered the anti-filariasis medicine, an official communication said.
