Staff Reporter

District Panchayat president Jabita Mandavi has directed the assistant commissioner of Tribal Development Department KS Masram to immediately remove the superintendent of Pre-Matric Girl’s Hostel in Mawalibhata .

The action has been taken following the complaints of students residing in the hostel. The students accused the superintendent Ganga Nagesh of mentally torturing them and not providing them proper meals and other basic amenities.

Earlier, on getting the complaint, Jabita Mandavi inspected the hostel and took stock of the situation. Students who made their plea before Jabita claimed that they were asked to do personal works of the superintendent apart.

“We have been deprived of basic amenities while the meals are also not provided timely and properly. Besides, the superintendent also asks us to bring stuffs for his daily use”, said Jaimani Kashyap, Jyoti Beena and other students.

Sweeper of the hostel Dees Kumari also complained of misbehavior by the superintendent. Sangeeta Ramteke, a lady constable of Home Guards also complained against her. It was reported that there was no water facility despite a hand-pump installed in the hostel. Therefore, the girls were allegedly forced to go to nearby water source for fetching water.

Block education officer RN Tati said that similar complaints were received earlier against Ganga Nagesh.

In the wake of incident,  District Panchayat president Jabita Mandavi ordered superintendent to discharge her duties sincerely.

However, Ganga Nagesh refuted the allegations.
