Collector Dhananjay Devangan held a joint meeting of officials and wholesalers and retailers of pulses at the District Collectorate here to discuss the issue of providing ‘Arhar dal’ at cheaper rates to the citizens.
The Collector instructed the officers to take necessary steps to control the price hike of pulses and also check stock holding by the traders.
He directed the traders to display stock and rate of all types of pulses. The Collector also instructed Sub Divisional Officers and District Food Officers to take action under Chhattisgarh Essential Commodities Act, Chhattisgarh Essential Commodities Merchants licensing and Restriction order on hoarding of the stock by the traders.
