Taking serious note of the inconvenience faced by the people visiting Ma Danteshwari temple during Navratri due to delay in construction of a road, Collector KC Devsenapati ordered the contractors to lay a carpet now on the ‘Gauravpath’ on their own expense.
In a meeting with officers and contractors of Public Works Department (PWD), the Collector pulled up the contractors for not completing the construction of road in time.
Devsenapati said that the contractors were solely responsible for not completing the work in time despite repeated warnings issued to them. They will have to ensure that the general public do not face problem in visiting the temple and hence they should lay carpet on Gauravpath between Karli and Danteshwari temple, ordered Devsenapati.
He said that the terms and conditions are clearly mentioned and time period is prescribed for work in the contract. However, the contractors had not show interest in completing the work in stipulated time. Devsenapati directed the sub-divisional officers to ensure that work of laying the carpet is completed soon and the devotees do not face inconvenience.
