Chhattisgarh Director General of Police D.M. Awasthi on Tuesday ordered his force to take action and even pulled up senior officers after listening to people's grievances via video calls under the ‘Samadhan’ programme.

A man from Shakti police station limits of Janjgir Champa district told the DGP that about two months back he was seriously injured in the attack but the accused were still at large.

The DGP instructed Janjgir Superintendent of Police (SP) Parul Mathur and the police station in-charge Jangir to quickly arrest the accused.

In a separate case, a resident of Surajpur, Amresh Kumar Dubey, told Awasthi that his daughter died due to negligence of doctors in Ambikapur but no action was taken.

The DGP told Superintendent of Police Ambikapur T.R. Koshima to write to the Civil Surgeon and get the alleged negligence probed.

From Bijapur, a parent told the DGP that their son had died in an accident but police was not arresting the guilty. The DGP asked the district police to arrest the person.

Listening to complaints regarding liquor peddling in Rajnandgaon and Dhamtari, the DGP pulled up the district SPs and asked them to launch a drive against illicit liquor.
