Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Friday told the Tribal Welfare Department to urgently formulate an action plan for the development of special backward tribes.
The Chief Secretary was chairing a meeting of an empowered committee constituted to prepare the plan.
He asked officials to include works focusing on education, health and nutrition in the action plan.
This should be prepared at the earliest after discussions with Collectors, public representatives and various departments, he said.
Those who attended the meeting included Principal Secretary (School Education) Dr. Alok Shukla, Tribal Development Department Secretary D.D. Singh, Public Health Engineering Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan and Commissioner Tribal and Development Department Shammi Abidi.
