Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Saturday called for ensuring deposit of quality rice with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and State Civil Supplies godowns.
He directed officials to expedite the work of paddy lifting from procurement centres and custom milling of rice, an official statement said.
He was virtually holding review of paddy procurement for Kharif year 2021-22 with Divisional Commissioners of Bastar, Surguja and Bilaspur and Collectors of Kondagaon, Bastar, Korba, Korea, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur and Dantewada.
Jain said a separate demi-official letter (DO) should be issued to FCI while depositing different varieties of rice.
A nodal officer will check the space availability in FCI godowns after submission of each lot so that better stacking can be done. Based on quality, different stacking is to be done. Care must be taken to ensure safety of these stacks.
The Chief Secretary sought details of paddy procurement, availability of jute sacks, agreements with millers, status of custom milling, vaccination at procurement centres and related issues.
