The construction of roads in the insurgency-hit pockets of Gariaband will be carried out on the model of Bastar division with sufficient protection provided to contractors, said Superintendent of Police, Gariaband, Amit Tukaram Kamble soon after taking charge in the district headquarters here.
Kamble replaced IPS Abhishek Pathak who was posted in Gariaband for about two years in the recent reshuffle of IPS officers.
While interacting with reporters, the newly-appointed SP discussed about law and order situation in the district and said that concrete steps will be taken up for constructing roads to Kamar Bhodi village located in the remote Amammora region. He said that though Gariaband is one of the insurgency-hit districts, but due to police alertness they (Naxals) have weakened considerably.
