Staff Reporter

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) president, Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday expressed disappointment over ‘snail-pace investigation’ of Maoist attack on the Congress convoy on May 25 last year.

He urged National Investigation Agency (NIA) to speed up the probe and demanded Narco test of the persons, who have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case, so far.

Baghel while addressing a Press conference held at the State Congress headquarters here said that the incident was heartrending, in which, people lost their favourite leaders of the State. ‘They are not only keen to know about the conspirators and the attackers but also demand strict actions against them.’

The State Party Chief added that a Maoist Gudsa Usendi had surrendered before NIA on January 20, this year.

“During investigation, Usendi had revealed some names to NIA for their alleged involvement in the attack. It was learnt that, based on Usendi’s information, NIA had later called some people for interrogation but the truth was never revealed in public” claimed Baghel.

He added that after BJP registered victory in recently concluded State assembly and lok Sabha election, better coordination was expected between the Central and State Government to help the investigating agency to speed up the probe.
