'Congress scared of NaMo popularity'

Staff Reporter

BJP chief Rajnath Singh claimed on Saturday that the Congress was scared of rising popularity of Narendra Modi and predicted that the Congress would further intensify all sorts of attacks on him.

Addressing one of the biggest-ever rallies of Chhattisgarh at Ambikapur, Singh said, “Modi is country's one of the most popular leaders and the Congress would try to intensify its attack on him as the party is scared of his popularity. But the entire BJP and nation stand behind him.”

He stated, “All surveys being conducted recently have confirmed Modi’s popularity and it's for sure that the BJP is in line to form the next Government at the Centre.” He added that development and welfare works of Modi are making topics of discussion even in abroad. He ridiculed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his recent statement in Parliament in which he had slammed the Opposition for not allowing Parliament to function smoothly.

“Everybody knows in India what is the real plight of economy, people are battling with poverty and unemployment but it’s humorous and ridiculous that the PM held the Opposition BJP responsible for its own Government’s failures. He (PM) said the Congress Government failed to deliver because the BJP was vocal in Parliament,” the BJP president remarked at the rally which was held to mark conclusion of 6,000 km-plus Vikas Yatra of Chhattisgarh CM.

He lavished praise on Raman Singh for his vision of development in the tribal-dominated State and urged people to continue extend support and affection to him as he is ‘performing exceptionally’.
