Opposition Congress members on Tuesday demanded from the State Government in Chhattisgarh Assembly to make MlAs and MPs chiefs of the District Mining Committees set up in the State.
Congress member Dhanendra Sahu who raised the issue said that when district collectors can be made chiefs of District Mining Funds (DMFs) why not also have MlAs and MPs as chiefs.
leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo also demanded that MPs and MlAs should be made chiefs of DMFs.
To this Chief Minister Raman Singh replied : “ We can give this issue a thought”.
In another question, member Amit Jogi asked Minister for Woman and Child Development Ramsheela Sahu as to how many child remand homes are operational in the State.
To this, the Minister replied that all the child remand homes are operational in the State.
