A new era in Congress party is going to dawn with the election of Rahul Gandhi as the next All India Congress Committee President (AICC), said AICC’s Chhattisgarh In-charge of AICC, Pl Punia.
Addressing reporters at Congress Bhawan here, he also claimed that the party is going to form the next Government in Chhattisgarh after Assembly polls next year.
Claiming that people of Chhattisgarh will this time choose Congress party in the elections, Punia charged that BJP was acting oppressively to harm the democracy.
Regarding demand of Congress Member of Parliament Chhaya Verma regarding making CGPCC President Bhupesh Baghel the CM face in the elections, Punia said the party was not projecting anybody as a CM face for the elections.
Commenting on 14 year rule of the BJP in Chhattisgarh, Punia said the condition of tribals in the State was worst in these years. “Only atrocities were done on them in these 14 years”, he said.
Not only tribals, the condition of girls and women in the State was also alarming proportions and they are not secure in the state, Punia said.
Citing NCRB report Punia said more than 27,000 girls and woman are missing from the State.
