The Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress Party rejected the State budget here on Wednesday while terming it as ‘anti-development’.
This budget will hamper development, increase inflation and is not in favour of industry claimed Congress leaders while reacting over the budget.
People were expecting cut on 24 per cent VAT which would have been some relief, but the budget failed to do so, said State Party Spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla. According to Shukla, for skill development inadequate financial provisions were made. Meanwhile, former MlA and Congress leader Ramesh Varlyani said that due to high online sale of mobile handsets, the State Govt is getting very little VAT on mobile phones.
