The residents of Durg-Bhilai hailing from Bihar-Uttar Pradesh have registered strong protest in changing the route of Durg-Chhapra-Sarnath express. In the next rail budget, rail department has decided to begin the train from Gondia district of Maharashtra till Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.
The residents of steel city and Durg with their native place as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have registered objection in the proposed change of route. The railway commuter association has said that the decision would create problems for the residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
They said that instead to terminate Sarnath Express at Muzaffarpur a new train should be started on this route. The commuter association meeting that was held recently decided that violent protest would be staged if the decision of rout change is not withdrawn.
