The fitness certificates of commercial vehicles without speed governors would be terminated, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Rail & Traffic) TJ longkumer said in a meeting chaired by him here at the Police Headquarters on Monday.
All school buses need to be checked for speed governors, he said.
The meeting was attended by officials of PWD( National Highway) and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)
A total of 22,000 commercial vehicles were examined and speed governors were not found in 1820 vehicles, the meeting was informed.
PWD officials informed that a total of 29 black spots (accident prone spots) had been identified in Chhattisgarh in which 16 have been corrected and the rest would be corrected by March 31, 2018.
longkumer directed that hoardings which divert attention of commuters in urban areas be removed.
The encroachments along roads in cities should also be cleared, he directed.
