The State Commercial Tax Department has recorded revenue of Rs6,408 crore during April to December months in the current financial year (2014-15). Commercial Tax Minister Amar Agrawal reviewed the revenue collections and other issues of the Department.
He said that the revenue collected was higher by 11.46 per cent than the previous year. An amount of Rs5749 crore was collected by the Department in the last fiscal, he said. The Minister said that Rs5,108 crore was collected from local taxes, Rs654.82 crore from Central taxes and Rs644.62 crore from Entry Tax.
About Rs2,598.40 crore was collected from Raipur Division number 1, Rs1,903.61 crore from Raipur Division number 2, Rs378.7 crore from Bilaspur Division number 1, Rs787.43 crore from Bilaspur Division number 2, Rs740.12 crore from Durg Division. Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Department RS Vishwakarma and Additional Commissioner RK Trivedi and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
